Bankruptcy Fees

A typical bankruptcy includes the following fees:

  • Attorney’s fees,
  • Court filing fees, and
  • Credit counseling fees (for two online courses, one taken before filing, the second taken after filing.)

Chapter 7 Bankruptcy Fees

Our office uses flat fee billing for the standard attorney services included in a Chapter 7 case, which include:

  • Attorney’s fees: $1900.00 – $6000.00, depending on the complexity of the case
  • Court filing fee: $338.00 for both single filer and joint filers
  • Credit counseling course fees
  • Two credit counseling courses are required. One is taken before filing your case, and the second is taken after your bankruptcy is filed with the court. The fee for each course is set by an independent course provider. A typical fee is $15.00. We can help you find a course provider.
  • Payment methods: we accept payment of Chapter 7 fees by personal check, cash, or ZELLE.
  • When are fees due? Fees for Chapter 7 cases are due at the intake appointment.

Chapter 13 Bankruptcy Fees

Our office uses flat fee billing for the standard attorney services needed to prepare and confirm a Chapter 13 case, which include:

  • Attorney’s fees: $6000.00 – $7000.00, depending on complexity of the case
  • Court filing fee: $313.00 for both single filer and joint filer cases
  • Credit counseling course fees
  • Typically, 50% of the fees is paid prior to filing the case and 50% is paid through the monthly payments you make to the bankruptcy trustee.
  • Payment methods: we accept payment of Chapter 13 fees by personal check, cash, or ZELLE.
  • When are fees due? Pre-filing fees are due at the intake appointment.
